Hi, welcome to our website and blog where we share our experience of

We used to balance life in the UK with travelling the world part time. Then we decided the world was winning... so we sold it all and went all in!
For every family who has ever looked at each other over the school run and thought... there has to be more than this.
There is. Come with us.
Hi, welcome to our website and blog where we share our experience of

Our real life experience of balancing life in the UK with seeing the world with our two children.
We will share our highlights and offer advice on the lessons we learn along the way
Thank you for being here

Travel, for us, is ALL about the experiences we have on the journey. After all, where is the fun in travelling if you don't find the weird and wonderful sights and site along the way?!

We have been so lucky already on our travels to have come across some incredible sights from the natural world! We carefully research everywhere we visit to make sure it fits our ethics & would love to share our knowledge.

World Schooling was a phrase we had not even heard of before we embarked on our first trip... but what an amazing community we uncovered!
Perhaps the best part of our travels so far and now our 'way of life'!
Not every destination is created equal when you're travelling with kids long term... After four years we've got pretty good at sniffing out the good ones. Here's what we actually look for in a 'worldschooling hub' and our personal favourite destinations for travelling the world with kids.

We pulled our girls out of the UK school system and never looked back... but it didn't happen overnight. Here's honestly how we handle education on the road, what works, and what we'd do differently.

Top Tips for Travelling the World with Kids

Insurance
This is the one thing we never, ever cut corners on. Travelling long-term with kids means you need cover that actually understands your lifestyle - not a standard two-week holiday policy. We use SafetyWing, which is designed specifically for families living and travelling abroad. It's membership-based, affordable, covers emergencies even when the issue is a pre-existing condition, and has never let us down. Genuinely, sort your insurance before anything else... peace of mind is priceless when you're far from home.

Flights
Finding affordable flights for a family of four feels impossible at first - but we promise it gets easier. We use Skyscanner with the "whole month" view to find the cheapest travel dates, and we're always flexible on destination (sometimes the destination finds us that way!). Our biggest tip? Check one-way tickets. When you're not tied to a return date or location, the world opens up in ways you'd never expect.

Meeting Families
One of our biggest worries before we left was whether the kids would be lonely - and it turned out to be the thing we needn't have worried about at all. The worldschooling community is one of the warmest, most welcoming groups of people we've ever encountered. We find families through Worldschoolers Facebook groups, local meetups, and honestly just by showing up at a beach or playground. Our children have friends on every continent now. That still blows our minds... they will lead a completely different life to the life we had as kids and teenagers and have so many more global opportunities because of these connections.

Money
Budget is the question everyone asks us about, and honestly - long-term travel with kids can be more affordable than life back home once you get your head around it. We track every penny using a simple free app and always have an emergency fund sitting separately that we don't touch. For spending, we use a combination of free accounts and apps which give us the best exchange rates with no nasty fees.
Knowing your numbers takes the anxiety out of it and lets you actually enjoy the adventure.

Accommodation
Hotels are rarely the answer when you're travelling with kids long-term - you need space, a kitchen, and somewhere that actually feels like home for a while. We book almost everything through Booking.com or AirB&B and love filtering for apartments and villas with a kitchen. For longer stays of a month or more, we book a few days and then find a local agent or negotiate with the apartment owner in person when we arrive for the rest of our stay - you get much better value and a more authentic experience for the whole family that way.

Safety
Travelling with children means safety is always front of mind - and rightly so. Our approach is simple: research before we arrive, stay aware of our surroundings, and trust our instincts. We always have copies of important documents stored digitally, travel with a basic first aid kit, and make sure the kids know what to do if they ever get separated from us. The world is genuinely much safer than the news makes it seem — but a little preparation goes a long way towards keeping everyone relaxed and happy.
